Meeting: 19th November, 2005
Happy Birthday to me.
I turned 22 on the 18th so I organised a meeting for the following day seeing as it was a
Saturday so we could have a bit of a party as well as an Amiga meeting. I was expecting
quite a few people to show up but with one thing and another turn out ended up being
lower than previous meets. I think there was only 6 Amiga users plus a couple of my
local friends who came.
On show was the A4000 running OS4, Roberts 4000, Marks 4000 and new A600 project.
He's re-housed it into an old apple Macintosh case, and done a very good job too. We
also had 2 Amiga's nullmodemd up for a few games of Stunt Car Racer and Aldur
showed up with his microA1. Last but my no means least Tanz brought along his A4000
to remove the battery from it to prevent any damage from acid leakage.
We all had a good chat during the meeting and got several things done that had been
planned. Mark fitting his 040 card to his A4000, I taught Robert how to use MUI's
screens and offered some help to some random guy wanting some antivirus help for his
windows PC.
After the meeting we all pilled down to the Barge Inn for a meal, which I think went
down rather well even though there was a couple of complaints. We sat there for an hour
or 2 and chatted some more before calling it a day. Most people went home but Robert
came out with me in the evening to help celebrate my birthday. Aldur was going to join
us but came down with a bug or something so we gave him a lift to the train station at
8pm and he went home to bed.
On the night out we managed to sample 7 bars before going into my local night-club
sometime around midnight I think. I don't really remember all that much from the night
due to being intoxicated but I had fun :-). I got home somewhere around 2:30 and
promptly managed to drop my laptop...
Anyway I'd like to thank everyone who turned out and to those who tried to attend. I'd
especially like to thank Robert for his assistance and for sticking around for a few days.
Looking forward to the next meeting in March 2006!
