A3200 and
A3400
Developer: Commodore
Year of development: 1991 |
A few months after the cancellation of the A3000+, the Commodore
engineering team resurrected the A1000jr project as an internal
testing model for developers. This resulted in the creation of two
ECS-based prototypes - the A3200 and A3400 - that were never
intended for mass distribution. As can be expected, the protoypes
were incomplete, demonstrating several major bugs, including
CPU-intensive IDE interface (even worse than the A4000 version),
slow memory access, and an absence of SCSI.
