AMIGA
3500
Developer: Commodore
Year of Announcement: 1991 |
The A3500 was an early version of the A3000T demonstrated at the
Business Computing Show in 1991. During the past ten years several
prototype models have been bought by Amiga owners and
computer collectors. These provide a fascinating glimpse of the
development process that eventually resulted in the A3000T. For
example, the early version incorporated a surface mounted 25MHz
68030 CPU. To house the early prototype, Commodore used a standard
CBM PC60III tower unit- an Intel PC that was manufactured by the
company at the time.
During the following months the A3500T system/case design was
finalised and the machine was renamed A3000T in preparation for the October 1991
launch.
