Amiga Workbench 1.1
Developer: Amiga Inc/Commodore
Launch: December 1985 |
Workbench 1.1 was a minor bugfix shipped with international Amiga
1000. Before the OS could be booted Kickstart had to be loaded from
disk. A tutorial on how to use the system was also included.
The OS was still quite basic- you could not see files that did
not have an icon. It also did not show icons while dragging files,
changing to a red crosshair. The capabilities of the OS were
demonstrated by 3 small demos that drew random dots, boxes, or
lines. These may look basic now, but in 1985 it was impressive to
animate graphics and multitask at the same time.
Two versions of Workbench 1.1 were released - one for NTSC and a
later version for PAL.
