The CDTV's failure to ignite the
convergence market was a great embarrassment to Commodore. As a
result several subsiduaries, including Commodore UK, argued that
they should have greater control over product marketing in their
respective regions. One of the first moves made by Commodore UK was
to unify the Amiga and CDTV brand and begin promoting the machine
as a multimedia computer system. This move was relatively
successful, tripling previous sales.
The bundle included a CDTV keyboard, CDTV 1411 3.5-inch disk
drive, infra-red controller, mouse, a 'Welcome' CD, and a 'Fred
Fish' CD. Many distributors also chose to bundle additional games-
Indi Direct included CDTV Lemmings, Blues Brothers, Pipemania,
Populous, Kick Off 2 and Space Ace.
