Developer: Amiga Inc.
First seen: April 2001

The AmiWest show in St. Louis was a defining moment in the current definition of the Amiga - Amiga Inc. announced the continuation of the Amiga OS and several interesting partnerships were announced or hinted. As part of their effort to educate Amiga users' on their new strategy for the desktop market, the company released a concept design that depicted their final goal for the desktop market - AmigaOS5. The concept design appeared in May 2001 issue of Amiga Active magazine, followed by widespread dissemination on the web and other Amiga magazines.
AmigaOS5 Concept design
The concept design, created by Matt Chaput (the man behind popular GlowIcons), is reminiscent of the QNX interface, the User Interface has a pseudo-3D, curved appearance. There are also strong elements of AmigaOS 3.9, NeXtStep, BeOS, and MacOS present.
