What is DPaint?
Deluxe Paint was the premiere art package for the Amiga through its
lifetime. Launched by Electronic Arts soon after the A1000, it
quickly established itself and the IFF format as an industry
standard. The package was later launched for MS-DOS but it
never attracted the market share of the Amiga version. It became a
standard part of the Amiga distribution, bundled with many A500,
A600, and A1200s. The last release, version 5 came out in late
1994. Despite its age the application still offers a number of
benefits over its closest competitor, Personal Paint, most notably
support for HAM and HAM8 modes.
It has recently been re-released on CD for 19.99UKP.
