Merlancia Concept designs

In a press release dated June 23rd 2001, Merlancia Industries revealed three concept designs for their Tsumami casework. As has been noted elsewhere, Merlancia has been inspired by previous Amiga developers, including the original Amiga Inc. Jon Carroll's rendered designs continue the trend showing a strong resemblance to Commodore Amiga products.

TouchSmart keyboard TouchSmart keyboard
An Amiga-style keyboard unit. Note the F1-F10 keys, DEL/HELP buttons, and the general layout.
Tsunami tower

Tsunami Tower
The Tsunami tower unit appears to be aimed at the server market and is heavily influenced by Arthurs C. Clarke's 2001 imagery. The designer, Jon Carroll indicates the case has a vertically-mounted slot (on the second ridge at the top-right) for a DVD drive. A Panasonic model with a software-controlled eject may have been used.

Tsunami MMC Tsunami tower set-up
A contextual representation of the tower and keyboard. They are shown with the MyszaTouch Mouse and LCD Display.

The Tsunami set-up portrays a futuristic setting for their Amiga range. However, it is unlikely that the monitor will resemble that in the image.
