For Phase One we are integrating the next
gen "virtual processor" Amiga software on x86 embedded platform for
model wb8616JID. Phase Two SimpleBox JID device plans include a
port to risc type platform(s). The folks over at Amiga are also
working on a more powerful Amiga RISC platform desktop machine that
we understand is coming early 2001. |

We are a 4 year old US company focused on
the set top and internet device product and service markets. Since
last year we have been shipping an entry level set top --our wb6400
series--- based on the Winbond PA-RISC platform under the SimpleBox
and other private brands. Our entry level solution uses a tailored
Access Netfront v2.5 browser that provides basic
functions.
For the last six months we have been working
on extending our SimpleBox line to include more robust devices and
software. When we recently came across what the team from the new
Amiga was doing with VP,JAVA and more, we acted immediately.
Working closely with Amiga we have fast tracked Phase One of the
SimpleBox JAVA Internet Device (JID) Program. We initially selected
a proven x86 hardware solution for the Amiga Virtual Processor
technology and Multimedia Layer integration with our SimpleBox User
Interface. Phase One plans call for a limited production run of
10,000 units to begine production in December, 2000. We are still
studying the details of Phase Two.
