The Amiga Surfer was the second bundle to come from the
short-lived Amiga Technologies. It was intended for release at the
end of January 1996 and consisted of the basic A1200 system, fitted with a 260MB hard drive and a
28800bs (Bits Per Second) modem. It is noted as being the first
low-end system to be aimed at the more technical side of computing.
A suite of Internet software were included, such as Magic User
Interface(MUI) 3.2, AS 225 R2 (TCP/IP software), MindWalker (an earlier version of
Voyager-NG), AmiRC (IRC Client),
AmFTP (FTP Client), Voodoo (E-mail manager). It was also set
to include the productivity software featured in the Amiga Magic bundle. All systems would include
an option to connect to the IBM Internet link and get 100 hours
free connection.
