Amiga WebPad

For years it has been an Amiga users dream to be able to buy a laptop and run the AmigaOS on it. Thanks to UAE this dream has become a reality. It is not ideal but it is possible. When Amiga Inc. announced their move towards the Digital Convergence one of the aims was to allow the operating system to run on a range of wireless devices, from laptops to palmtops.

Six months later the company released concept drawings showing a WebPad-device that the user interacted with via a touch screen. The concept is hardly revolutionary in itself, the industry uses differing variations to this in the high-end market.

 Amiga WebPad?
Facing increasing pressure from people within Gateway and Amiga, Jim Collas announced that the company would only produce one machine- the Amiga MCC.  However, as this rather blurred grab from the World of Amiga 1999 presentation shows (a time index of 3.38- 3.40 for those who have the video), the company may have planned to badge a webpad and sell it with the Amiga OE.
