Mediator Desktop Box Project: the Wooden Amiga
Developer: Fisherking |
Demonstrated: January 2001 |
One of my PC owning friends has a running joke that the Amiga is
made of wood. 'Powered by Amiga?', 'Powered by Steam more like'
they often say. Imagine their surprise when I finally agree that
the Amiga is made of wood, and use the Desktop Box project as
proof! ;)
The Mediator Desktop Box project was constructed by an
individual calling himself 'Fisherking'. The project began when he
received the Mediator PCI busboard and realised that the PCI slots
did not match the spaces in his PC tower. After some thought he
decided to construct his own desktop case made entirely from wood.
The purpose-constructed box has a 4 inch slot in the front for the
insertion of floppy disks, and a large gap in the side for two
CD-ROM drives.
