Which one should I buy, accelerators or memory cards?

Memory cards, for those who do not know, are boards that plug into the trapdoor of an Amiga and contain a small amount of memory, usually 2Mb, 4Mb, or 8Mb. These are relatively cheap, retailing for about £10-50 UKP. Whilst they may look a bargain they restrict other expansion to the trapdoor, preventing you from adding a faster processor. Accelerators, as the name suggests, add a faster processor and also allow standard SIMMs to be added. This results in a system that most likely will double in speed. Accelerators are the better value for money, retailing at under £100 for a 68030 version for the A1200.
