What is the Siamese System?

The Siamese System is a new way of sharing resources between your Amiga and PC. The amount of sharing allowed varied according to the version that you owned;

The first version simply allowed you to read all of the PCs drives over a SCSI link. The second release added to this by allowing the Amigas graphics to be retargeted over to the PCs monitor, using the graphics card in the PC as a virtual graphics card on the Amiga. This meant Workbench could be run in a little window on the PC desktop. You can also cut and paste between systems and applications taking away the need for disk swapping between both systems. As well as using one set of hardware to control both machines, you could control the PC mouse pointer with your Amigas mouse allowing for seamless integration of the two machines.

The latest version promises to integrate the Amiga fully by including it on a PCI card that can be plugged into any PCI compatible system! This means it could be used on a Mac, a PC, and even a DEC Alpha system!

More news on the new Amiga-on-a-card can be found in the Amiga clones section.
